In London, you’ll find over 240 theaters scattered across the city, making it one of the richest theater districts in the world!
Below, you’ll find a list of shows that, in my opinion, everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime.

Many iconic London theaters are located just a 10-15 min walk from the TKTS booth in Leicester Square, where you can purchase discounted tickets for same-day performances.
Most musicals in London typically offer performances around 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
While you can find some snacks and drinks at the theater, it's better to enjoy a full meal beforehand so you're comfortable throughout the performance. Most performances last between 2 and 3 hours.
There’s no strict dress code for the theatres in London—anything from casual attire like jeans and trainers to formal wear is acceptable.
If you're not fluent in English, choosing a show based on a book or movie you already know can make the experience even more enjoyable.
Most productions include strobe lighting effects.
Be aware that watching some performances might lead to countless return visits, as certain shows deeply resonate with audiences :) .

Hamilton is my personal favourite musical in London, and I can't help but smile every time I pass the Victoria Palace Theatre, the London home of this revolutionary show.
This musical tells the inspiring story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and the face on the $10 bill.
His life, an ultimate American dream story, is brought to life through the medium of hip-hop, written by the genius Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Miranda not only wrote the lyrics and music but also performed in the original production.
This musical has become a global cultural phenomenon, with millions of fans learning every lyric.
A good understanding of English helps you fully enjoy this captivating theatrical experience.
Hamilton is suitable for audiences aged 12 and up.
6. The Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the minds behind South Park!), is a critically acclaimed, hilariously funny, and outrageous musical — a theatrical experience you won’t forget!
Be aware: it’s full of strong language, satirical jokes, and humor about religion and adult themes, so it’s definitely not for kids or anyone who prefers more traditional musicals.
7. Abba Voyage
ABBA Voyage is not strictly a musical, but a one-of-a-kind concert experience in London.
It showcases mesmerizing holograms of the iconic Swedish pop band, displayed in the specially designed ABBA Arena, located near Pudding Mill Lane DLR station.
The ABBA avatars appear on a massive 65-meter screen, accompanied by a live band, creating the illusion of a live concert.
The show offers a unique, visually spectacular way to relive ABBA's music, with many calling it a 'jaw-dropping' experience.
